West Side Embankment of Tidung Island Being Casted

The Seribu Islands Water Resources Agency Sub-agency (SDA) is seen casting a massive cube-shaped embankment on the west side of Tidung Island Port, RW 03, Tidung Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands Sub-district.

Seribu Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Mustajab said casting was done to prevent beach erosion, which is a direct proposal from the residents through the Rembuk RW meeting.

"It has been ongoing since January 27, 2025, and is targeted for completion by the end of February 2025," he expressed, Friday (2/14).

Embankment Constructions on Three Islands Reviewed

He explained the embankment size still has a top surface width of 84 centimeters and a height of 160 centimeters, extending for 70 meters.

"It can also be used as a road access and a barrier to support tourist destinations to enjoy the beach atmosphere," he explained.

"Hopefully, there will be no more residents doing land reclamation in the beach area behind the embankment," he hoped.

The casting work received appreciation from one of the residents, Tidung Island Urban Village, Diana (42).

"Thank you, and hopefully this effort can also attract tourists to enjoy the crashing waves," she said.
